For your body to stay fit and strong you need to make sure that the food you eat is healthy.
"But how do we know if food is healthy or not?" I hear you ask.
There are some foods that are very good for you, and some which are not so good, but the main thing to remember is that a combination of different food types is the best solution.
This is known as 'A balanced diet'. You should aim to eat foods containing carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals everyday.
Carbohydrates and fat are the body's main energy source.
Protein provide raw materials for growth and staying healthy.
Fats are needed in small amounts for healthy nerves and other body parts.
Vitamins and minerals are substances that your body needs to stay healthy and grow. Your body can't make them, so you have to eat lots of foods that contain them.
