What do you do?
I am the doctor that people come and see when they are ill or worried about something I am called a GP which stands for General Practitioner.
What is your background?
I was born in India and came to England as a baby. My father was a security guard, my mother was a housewife. I went to the local comprehensive school.
How did you become a doctor?
I did my GCSE's then 3 A-levels. Then I went to university where I studied to be a doctor.
What qualifications do you need and how long does it take?
I was at university for five years. This was called studying medicine. I was then a doctor. After this you decide which sort of doctor to be e.g. a surgeon. I wanted to be a GP and work in the community.
What is the most difficult thing about the job?
Knowing how to deal with a very wide range of people.
What is the best thing about the job?
Being able to make a real difference to people's lives.
