Hard drugs
Users get short term 'highs', but they suffer from mental and physical side effects which can kill them.
There are some drugs that are very harmful and addictive. Some of these are known as 'hard drugs'. They include heroin and cocaine.
Some addicts use needles to inject drugs into themselves. If they share needles with other drug users they may spread diseases such as HIV, AIDS and Hepatitis.
