Scarlet Fever
What is it?

Scarlet Fever

Is an infection which gives you a rash.

It is rough like sandpaper and appears most often on the neck, chest, elbow, groin and inner surfaces of your thigh.

You may also get a sore throat which happens before the rash appears.

Treatment Doctors use special medicines called antibiotics. You should stay away from school for at least five days after the treatment has begun.
Throw away paper hankies carefully.
Wash your hands carefully to avoid spreading the disease.
How do you catch it? Scarlet Fever is spread from person to person by close contact like kissing. It takes one to three days to appear.
